Portland Local & Family History Centre
The Lottery-funded Portland Local & Family History Centre was established in 2007 to provide public access to historical documents relating to the Isle of Portland. Located right here on the island, the Centre offers a welcoming space for anyone interested in exploring local or family history.
Opening Hours
We are open to the public during the following times:
- Mondays: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- Thursdays: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Our friendly volunteers are available during these hours to assist you with your research and enquiries.
Please note: Due to limited space, we can only accommodate one visitor or family group per session, so appointments are recommended but not essential.
While there is no charge to use the Centre, donations are greatly appreciated to help us maintain this valuable community resource.
